[New eBook] Hasedera
Years ago I frequently visited Kamakura with its many temples. While I visited really a lot of temples, one temple listed on our website I always missed. This was Hasedera.
Now that I planned to complete the eBooks for the Kamakura area I visited the temple twice and started with this garden to continue the Kamakura series started back in 2012/2013.
Hasedera is a temple with a rich history which recently did the step into the real modern world. While it still houses many very old relics, it takes great efforts to cope with the number of visitors and to give them also stunning gardens to look at.
One of these gardens is the recently built garden adjacent to the writing hall. The garden, titled go-en no niwa, was finished in 2013/2014 and is a stunning dry landscape garden featuring moss and daisugi cedars.
For my book, I met with the design company to give as much information about this recent garden as possible.
I am very thankful I got the opportunity to receive such unique material and information and share it with my readers.
There are preparations made for another new garden next to the parking lot, an area with nothing but only a few trees standing in a circle around it.
I am looking forward to coming back to Hasedera and see this area grow!
