About the product
This is an old style rain chain with a series of intertwined rings, which is where the name rain chain comes from. The colors is silver. The cross-sectional shape of the product is round, giving it a soft feel.
The brass material is carefully bent into rings one by one by craftsmen and welded to create the shape. Rainwater runs down each chain-ring and is guided to the ground as droplets. It is used in a variety of buildings, both Japanese and Western. Even on days when it doesn’t rain, the beauty of the rings adds color to the building, making this an impressive rain chain.
Precautions for use
A rain chain with a series of ripple-type rings (like this one) will splash more water around it than a cup-type rain chain. Therefore, when installing a rain chain with a ripple type, consider installing it in a place where there is no traffic nearby, where some water splashing is not a problem, or where the amount of rainwater is thought to be small. We recommend rain chains other than the ripple type for places where a relatively large amount of water flows or where people move around nearby.
Product Notes
– Please consider the drainage capacity you need for the size of your roof. This rain chain has a Max Drainage of 720 Liter/hour.
– This product cannot be assembled on-site. We sell one size only which can be shortened with the fitting tools and safety precautions by cutting the rings.
– There are no weights at the end of the chain.
– Since the length of rain chains changes depending on the number of links, they may be shipped slightly longer than the length indicated.
