■ Materials
Only high-quality Madake bamboo materials collected from bamboo forests in Kumamoto Prefecture are used. It has a harder skin than Moso bamboo, and has both strength and flexibility due to its dense fibers.
■ Shape
Square chopsticks with tapered tips. It is easy to grip food and does not require anti-slip processing.
■ The bamboo
Materials that use a special safe paint are boiled in a pot to remove the oil and moisture from the bamboo to prevent mold from forming, but mold may form depending on the storage and management conditions. Therefore, a safe paint that passes the standards of the Food Sanitation Act to make the products water-repellent is used.
■ All handmade
Bamboo chopsticks are handmade. Instead of mass-produced machine processing, each chopstick is finished by hand and with the eyes of a craftsman.
